Kenyan Families to Get Sh11.3 Billion in Boeing Compensation

The families of 32 Kenyans who died in the Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crash will receive a combined Sh11.3 billion from Boeing as part of a wider compensation process.

The payments are linked to agreements reached between Boeing and the US Department of Justice following two fatal crashes involving the Boeing 737 MAX, one in Indonesia on October 29, 2018, and another in Ethiopia on March 10, 2019.

Kenya was among the countries most affected by the tragedy, with 32 Kenyan citizens losing their lives in the crash. The average payment for each victim will be approximately Sh353 million, although individual beneficiaries may receive varying amounts.
