Kiefer Unveils Modern Jazz Dreamscape with 'Memory Bomb'
Kiefer's new single 'Memory Bomb' is out now and marks his forthcoming Blue Note debut. The song pushes the boundaries of jazz by incorporating beat-making, hip-hop, and improvisation into a hazy modern dreamscape.
The track features Walter Smith III, Flanafi, and Shibo, with Kiefer at the helm, shaping the sound around melody, texture, and improvisation. 'Memory Bomb' will be released as part of his album on September 25th, produced alongside Shibo and CARRTOONS.
Kiefer's music is a reflection of his diverse upbringing and influences. Growing up in San Diego, he was exposed to jazz through his parents and later developed an interest in beat-driven music after signing with Stones Throw Records. His album will bring together a range of musicians, including Erick The Architect, Tony Stone, and Rae Khalil, among others.
Kiefer's approach to collaboration is central to his music-making process. He works closely with CARRTOONS and Shibo, co-producing the record and translating his piano language into drum programming and production choices that blend jazz and beat music.
