The Walt Disney Company has revealed that Kingdom Hearts is now a 'billion-dollar franchise'.

In an investor-focused article on their website, Disney highlighted several of its gaming-related achievements, including the success of Kingdom Hearts.

Disney executive vice president of games and digital entertainment Sean Shoptaw explained that the company boasts nine games that have grossed over $1 billion at retail. Among those is Kingdom Hearts, which has accumulated this figure after 15 mainline games released over a quarter century.
