Kingdom Hearts Movie Not Ruled Out by Disney Animation Chief
Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jared Bush has hinted that a Kingdom Hearts movie is not entirely impossible. When asked about the possibility of turning the popular video game series into an animated feature, Bush responded with an encouraging message: 'Nothing is impossible.'
This comment comes as Kingdom Hearts 4 is set to release in late 2027 and its development team has been working hard to create a new and exciting experience for fans. The game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, has also revealed that the team was originally unable to implement an idea they had for Kingdom Hearts 3 due to technical difficulties.
Nomura mentioned during a recent D23 panel that this idea will finally be realized in Kingdom Hearts 4. While the details of what this idea is remain unknown, fans are eagerly anticipating its reveal. The games aren't the only place where Kingdom Hearts is expanding - an anime series is currently in development at Disney+, with Nomura and members of the game's team involved.
Bush's comment has sparked hope among fans that a Kingdom Hearts movie could happen one day. However, it remains to be seen whether such a project would work as a standalone film or if it would need to tie into the existing games in some way.
