Homeowners Noelia MaGowan and her husband recently completed a $100,000 kitchen renovation in their 1977-built house. The project was prompted by issues with the oven and sink not working.

Noelia, who cooks frequently for her family, including her toddler, wanted more functional space for preparation and cooking multiple dishes at once.

The designer, Carrie Brandstrom of @brandstrominteriors, relocated the fridge to make room for additional counters and cabinets. A pocket door was added in the half-bath adjacent to the kitchen, saving space and allowing for more storage above the new refrigerator.

The renovation included new appliances, a range hood, and the replacement of gas ovens with induction units. The addition of pendant lights, white backsplash, and Sherwin-Williams' 'Drift of Mist' and 'Pure White' paints made the room appear larger and brighter.
