Klarna Stock Jumps 6% Ahead of Antitrust Damages Verdict Against Google
Klarna's stock price jumped by 6% after the company announced that the Patent and Market Court of Sweden will deliver its verdict on April 15, 2026 in the antitrust damages proceedings brought against Google and Google Ireland Limited.
The claim was filed by PriceRunner International, a subsidiary of Klarna, seeking approximately $8.3 billion in damages for Google's alleged abuse of dominance in online comparison shopping.
PriceRunner claimed that Google systematically demoted competing price comparison services in its search results while favoring its own Google Shopping product, causing sustained and quantifiable commercial damage to PriceRunner over more than a decade.
The trial took place from October 20 to December 19, 2025, with the outcome being inherently uncertain. No assurance can be given that PriceRunner will succeed on liability or quantum, according to a statement by the company.
