Korean Air Closes $44.8 Billion Deal for 103 Boeing Aircraft
Korean Air has finalized its deal to purchase 103 Boeing aircraft and GE Aerospace engines worth $44.8 billion (approximately 60 trillion won). The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding signed in August last year during the South Korea-U.S. summit.
The airline will receive twenty 777-9s, twenty-five 787-10s, fifty 737-10s, and eight 777-8F freighters from Boeing. Additionally, it has contracted with GE Aerospace for spare aircraft engines and engine maintenance services worth around $8.6 billion (approximately 11.7 trillion won).
Korean Air plans to modernize its fleet and enhance operational efficiency by introducing next-generation aircraft. The airline intends to strengthen its competitiveness through expanded transport capacity and improved customer service.
