Korean Air Commits to 103 New Boeing Jets in Fleet Upgrade
Korean Air has finalized a deal to purchase 103 new Boeing aircraft as part of its fleet upgrade. The order includes 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 787-10s, and 50 737-10s. Additionally, the airline ordered eight 777-8Fs.
The engine deals worth $8.6 billion were signed with GE and CFM. Korean Air aims to standardize its fleet around five families: Boeing 777, 787, 737, Airbus A350, and A321neo.
This modernization supports the airline's carbon goals and capacity growth following Asiana's acquisition. The order includes maintenance contracts covering 28 aircraft over 15 years.
