Korean Air Finalizes Record Order for 103 Boeing Aircraft
Korean Air has finalized an order for 103 Boeing aircraft worth $36.2 billion, marking the largest investment in the airline's history.
The deal includes 20 Boeing 777-9 wide-body passenger jets, 25 Boeing 787-10s, 50 Boeing 737-10 narrow-body aircraft, and eight Boeing 777-8 Freighter cargo planes.
Korean Air estimates the total package of agreements at $44.8 billion, which includes a contract to purchase 21 spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International for $8.6 billion.
The airline aims to replace about 80% of its existing planes with new aircraft, improving fuel efficiency and enabling expansion into new destinations in the US and Latin America.
