Korean Air Lands $44 Billion Deal for 103 Boeing Aircraft
Korean Air has finalized an order for 103 Boeing aircraft worth approximately $44.8 billion, including engine support. The agreement was signed in Seoul on September 15, 2026, and is the largest in the airline's history.
The order consists of 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s, and eight 777-8F freighters. The aircraft portion is worth around $36.2 billion, while a separate agreement with GE Aerospace and CFM International for 21 spare engines adds an additional $8.6 billion.
Korean Air's order is significant not only because of its size but also because it shows the airline's commitment to standardizing its fleet after absorbing Asiana. By ordering a large number of Boeing 737-10s, Korean Air aims to have a single common narrowbody type for its short-haul and regional network.
