Korean Air finalized a massive $44.8 billion agreement to purchase 103 Boeing aircraft and engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International on September 15.

The deal completes the procurement plan announced in August 2025, with $36.2 billion allocated for the planes themselves and the remaining $8.6 billion spent on spare engines and a maintenance contract.

The fleet will comprise 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 Boeing 787-10s, 50 Boeing 737-10sm, and eight Boeing 777-8F freighters, in addition to the spare engines and maintenance coverage for 28 aircraft.

Korean Air Chairman Cho Won-tae described the agreement as 'more than a business deal,' emphasizing its significance for South Korea's economic ties with the United States.
