Korean Air Seals $44.8 Billion Deal for Boeing Jets and Engines
Korean Air has finalized its largest-ever aircraft order, worth $44.8 billion, which includes 103 Boeing jets and spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International.
The deal was signed in Seoul on Wednesday, and it marks the culmination of agreements made between Korean Air, Boeing, GE Aerospace, and CFM International during President Lee Jae Myung's visit to Washington in August 2025.
The package includes $36.2 billion for the purchase of 20 Boeing 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s, and eight 777-8F freighters from Boeing, as well as $8.6 billion in combined agreements with GE Aerospace and CFM International covering spare engines and a maintenance contract.
Korean Air's chairman and CEO, Walter Cho, described the deal as 'much more than a business agreement,' but rather a testament to the trust and unbreakable alliance between Korea and the US.
