Korean Air Seals $44.8B Boeing Deal Ahead of Asiana Merger
Korean Air has finalized a massive $44.8 billion aircraft deal with Boeing, which includes 103 jets, engines, and maintenance packages.
The agreement is part of Korean Air's plan to integrate Asiana Airlines into its operations by December and simplify its fleet.
The order consists of 20 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s, and eight 777-8 Freighters, as well as spare engines from GE Aerospace and CFM International and a 15-year engine maintenance contract with GE.
Korean Air is securing delivery positions for the next phase of its fleet, which will replace older aircraft and reduce the number of fleet types it operates.
