Krishna Sees Quantum Unlock Amid Component Crisis
IBM CEO Arvind Krishna is encouraging solution providers to explore sales opportunities in Power and Storage, as well as prepare clients for the transition to quantum computing. With data center component costs skyrocketing and supply chains strained, Krishna sees a 'massive unlock' in helping clients exploit quantum advantage.
Krishna notes that IBM's ability to maintain pricing stability for at least a month is better than its competitors, who may only be able to hold prices for a week. This stability allows solution providers to sell Power and Storage solutions with confidence.
On the topic of quantum computing, Krishna expects the first examples of quantum advantage on IBM hardware to emerge this year, with large-scale fault tolerance by 2029. He recommends solution providers explore ways to increase clients' token efficiency, citing an example where IBM engineers increased tokens per minute from 10,000 to 800,000.
