KuCoin Expands into Tokenized Equities with Apple, Robinhood, Strategy, and SpaceX
KuCoin has expanded its offerings by adding four new xStocks to its spot market. The exchange opened trading for tokenized versions of Apple, Robinhood, Strategy, and SpaceX on September 23. These tokens are issued on Solana and are designed to be collateralized 1:1 by the corresponding underlying assets held with a regulated custodian.
The new xStocks trade under AAPLX, HOODX, MSTRX, and SPCXX. This model is not just about tracking stock prices through an oracle; each token has a direct relationship with its underlying asset. Apple and SpaceX trading opened at 14:30 UTC on September 23, while Robinhood and Strategy followed at 15:00 UTC.
KuCoin also enabled the new pairs across several automated trading products, including Spot Grid, DCA, and Smart Rebalance. However, access to these xStocks is heavily restricted by jurisdiction, with users from countries like the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan being excluded.
