Lakeshore Lodge Construction Update: Otters Slides Installed, Roofing Progress
A recent update from aerial photographer bioreconstruct has given us a glimpse into the construction progress of Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, the newest addition to Walt Disney World. The photos, taken on September 19, show that the installation of otter slides is now complete in the Wetlands pool area.
The two giant otter sculptures, named Addy and Bonnie, have been finished, along with their accompanying slides. A crane sculpture can be seen leaning over the lazy river, while a bridge crossing the river has one crane at its end. Pieces of a spiral waterslide are staged for installation in the pool.
Roofing work is also underway across the resort, particularly on Moonglade, the lakefront restaurant. Crews have covered the plywood paneling and steel frames of overhangs with sheathing, although an overhang facing the resort remains uncovered.
Lakeshore Lodge is set to open its doors on July 1, 2027, with bookings scheduled to begin this October. The new hotel promises a unique experience for guests, with features like the zero-entry pool named Lakeshore Lagoon and real palm trees planted in the area.
