Lamont Landers Soars After Grand Ole Opry Debut

Lamont Landers' music career has experienced a meteoric rise since his first appearance on The Bobby Bones Show. When he returned to the show, he was a completely different artist from the one who first walked through the studio doors.

Bobby compared Lamont's transformation to watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. In the time since his first appearance, Lamont's career has taken off in ways that still feel surreal. He recently performed at the legendary Grand Ole Opry, where he got to sing alongside country icon Vince Gill.

The Opry moment carried extra weight for Lamont because of a personal connection: Vince Gill was the first concert his mom ever took him to as a kid. When Lamont mentioned that to Vince ahead of the performance, Vince told him to bring his mom along, and she ended up getting to spend time with Vince Gill while Lamont recorded background vocals for the show.

The biggest turning point in Lamont's recent rise traces back to his appearance on The Bobby Bones Show. Questlove, drummer for The Roots and bandleader for Jimmy Fallon's show, came across one of Lamont's covers and reposted it. That repost caught the attention of producer Dave Cobb, who reached out and ultimately signed Lamont to his label, Lucile Records.
