Large Consumer Stocks Hit New Lows Amid Market Weakness
A recent list of S&P 500 stocks trading at their 52-week lows includes several large consumer companies. As of September 16, there are 21 such stocks on the list, with McDonald's (MCD) being the largest, valued at around $176.3 billion.
The list also features other well-known companies like TJX Companies (TJX), Lowe's Companies (LOW), and Nike (NKE). However, despite their low stock prices, these businesses have shown growth in revenue and free cash flow over the past year.
A 52-week low can signal two different things: genuine fundamental damage or a temporarily low price. Investors should examine the business before making any judgments based on the stock's price alone.
