Larson's Expedition Therapeutics Secures $115M to Advance COPD Treatment
San Francisco-based Expedition Therapeutics Inc., founded by former healthcare investment banker Yi Larson, has raised $115 million in a Series B funding round to advance its experimental treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This latest financing comes just 10 months after the company secured $165 million in a Series A round.
The Series B round was led by General Atlantic and included participation from RA Capital Management and Vivo Capital, among other investors. Existing investors such as Sofinnova Investments, Novo Holdings, Forbion Ventures, KKR & Co.'s Dawn Biopharma unit, Sanofi Ventures, Venrock, and BVF Partners also contributed to the funding.
Larson's experience in assembling deals at Goldman Sachs and her involvement in several high-profile transactions, including Roche's $46.8 billion acquisition of Genentech Inc., demonstrate her ability to build strong investor relationships.
