LawToolBox Connects Legal AI with Microsoft 365 Matter Data via MCP
LawToolBox has developed an integration using Microsoft's Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect legal AI assistants with matter-specific data stored in Microsoft 365. This connector includes 70 tools that leverage M365 data in LawToolBox matter containers, applicable laws and regulations, and the legal team's strategic analysis amplified by LLMs.
The LawToolBox MCP server works with Microsoft 365 and Anthropic's Claude, allowing compatible AI applications to access information from legal matter containers while respecting the permissions applied to that content. This approach uses Model Context Protocol to provide a standardized connection between AI models and matter data rather than requiring firms to build individual integrations.
LawToolBox positions this architecture as a way for legal organizations to use AI while maintaining Microsoft 365 as the system where documents and matter information reside. An attorney can use the LawToolBox M365 Copilot for Legal Agent in Outlook, Word, Teams, Meetings, Excel to draft documents, analyze a case timeline or a legal contract, or prepare for upcoming deadlines.
