LeBlanc Seeks Reelection as Ascension Parish Constable

James LeBlanc is seeking reelection as Constable, Third Justice Court in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. He has held this position since 2001 and has dedicated over 40 years to serving the community.

LeBlanc's extensive background in public service includes being first elected volunteer fire chief at the age of 19 and spending 34 years with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Officer Reserve Division while leading emergency response organizations. His current role as Governmental Affairs Director for Ascension Parish Government began in March 2021, following his retirement from Honeywell Chemical after 31 years.

His opponent's campaign has criticized LeBlanc for wearing too many hats, but he counters that this is not an issue since the job of constable is not a full-time position in most parishes. He emphasizes the importance of having good working relationships with fellow law enforcement agencies and other governmental entities, which he claims to have maintained throughout his tenure.

As Constable, Third Justice Court, LeBlanc's duties include serving court papers, enforcing judicial mandates, and acting as bailiff to keep order in the 3rd Justice Court. He has received training similar to that of a full-time deputy and has maintained this required training for 26 years.
