Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong attended the opening gala dinner for the special exhibition 'Korea: 2,000 years of creativity' at the British Museum in London on September 30. The exhibition was jointly organized by the National Museum of Korea, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and the British Museum.

The event marked a significant cultural exchange between South Korea and the United Kingdom, with attendees including Princess Anne of the British royal family, Finance Minister John Healey, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan, and executives from global corporations such as BT Group and Vodafone.

In his remarks, Lee Jae-yong expressed respect and gratitude to three Korean War veterans in attendance and emphasized the 140-year relationship between Korea and the United Kingdom. He also highlighted Samsung's long-standing partnership with the UK, dating back about 80 years.

The exhibition is a large-scale showcase of Korean art and culture, featuring 2,000 years of creativity. It was first held at the National Museum of Korea in Seoul before touring to Washington D.C., Chicago, and now London. Lee Jae-yong introduced his family's philosophy of preserving and sharing cultural heritage, which has been passed down from founding Chairman Lee Byung-chul.

The event also served as a venue for private diplomacy, with executives from core global partner companies collaborating with Samsung Electronics in semiconductors attending the gala dinner. These included ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet, Merck CEO Kai Beckmann, Zeiss CEO Andreas Pecher, and imec CEO Patrice Vandenameele.
