LG and Nvidia Team Up for Advanced Robotics Training
LG Electronics has expanded its collaboration with Nvidia to develop robotics training data. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in August, covering cooperation in robotics and artificial intelligence factories, as well as mobility.
The partnership involves combining real-world task data with virtual data at LG's Data Factory in Yangjae, Seoul. By the end of the year, the company plans to accumulate 100,000 hours of training data, equivalent to about 12 years' worth of data. This will be used to advance its robot foundation model (RFM) for humanoid robots.
LG CLOiD, a robot developed internally by LG Electronics, is being used at the Data Factory to generate and collect data. The facility includes spaces replicating homes as well as manufacturing and logistics sites, where the robot performs tasks such as cleaning and assembly.
