Liberty Cruise Past Tempo in Toronto
The New York Liberty dominated the Toronto Tempo in their final home game of the season, securing a convincing 106-69 win at Coca-Cola Coliseum. Breanna Stewart led the way for the Liberty with an impressive 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 22 minutes of play.
The Tempo's Kiki Rice scored a team-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Liberty's balanced offense. Jonquel Jones chipped in 11 points for the visitors, while forward Laura Juskaite led the way for the host Tempo with 28 points.
The Tempo's top players, Brittney Sykes and Marina Mabrey, were again absent due to injury, which has plagued the team throughout its inaugural season. Despite a promising start, the Tempo struggled to find consistency and finished their home schedule with a dismal 4-17 record.
