Libra Expands Lithium Footprint with Flagship Cisco West and Obamska Projects
Libra Energy Materials Inc., (CSE: LIBR) (OTCQB: LIBRF) (FSE: W0R0), has announced that it will acquire a 100% interest in the Cisco West and Obamska lithium projects in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. The company plans to earn this interest through cash payments, share issuances, and a net smelter returns royalty.
The Cisco West project is contiguous with Q2 Metals' Cisco deposit, the largest hard-rock lithium deposit in the Western Hemisphere, and covers approximately 45 km of strike along the Nottaway Deformation Zone. The project has seen little to no exploration for lithium to date, despite hosting large outcropping pegmatites with very low K/Rb and K/Cs ratios.
The Obamska Project hosts numerous large LCT pegmatites outcropping at surface, with preliminary in-field data showing geochemical signatures aligning with major spodumene-bearing pegmatites across the Superior Province. The company plans to conduct field programs on both projects in the coming weeks, supported by strong infrastructure including the Billy Diamond Highway and the CN railhead at Matagami.
