The storm, not unusual in Central Florida during the summer, proved intense enough for one visitor to describe it as 'possibly the craziest thunderstorm' they had ever experienced.

The storm reportedly struck near Tiana's Bayou General, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and the hub area, which is located at the central point of the park immediately in front of Cinderella Castle. Several areas around Seven Seas Lagoon also took direct hits from lightning. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or significant damage.
