Linux Revives Failing Microsoft Surface with Ease

A writer, Amir, was inspired to put Linux on his father's Microsoft Surface Pro 6 after experiencing its poor performance under Windows.

The device had issues with battery life, overheating, and lag. To see if Linux could breathe new life into the Surface, Amir decided to install it using a project called linux-surface, which provides customized drivers for Surface hardware.

However, installing Linux on a Surface can be tricky due to its unique hardware features such as touchscreens, cameras, and sensors that don't work properly under Linux. But, thanks to the Ultramarine Linux distro, Amir found it relatively easy to install Linux on his father's device.
