LIV Golf's Turbulent Future: Rahm Speaks Out Ahead of Irish Open
Saudi-backed LIV Golf continues to face uncertainty about its future after scaling back operations and laying off employees earlier this month. The circuit's 2026 season finished ahead of schedule following the cancellation of the team championship in Detroit.
LIV player Jon Rahm addressed the issue ahead of the Amgen Irish Open at Trump International Doonbeg, saying 'Yes and no' when asked if he knows what the future holds for the circuit. He added that there's just a lot of things in place, right? There's a lot of things that could happen and it's one of those things where time's gonna tell.
Rahm joked that he's pretty good at dealing with turbulence, as players on LIV have become accustomed to uncertainty. However, his teammate Tyrrell Hatton has said he expects LIV to continue in 2027.
