Lockwood Haulage Workers Vote to Strike Over Pay Dispute
Workers at Lockwood Haulage's Knottingley and South Kirkby sites have voted to strike over pay and attendance-based bonus scheme issues.
The Unite union said around 40 forklift truck drivers and machine operators in the company's glass division will walk out indefinitely from next Wednesday, September 2nd.
Lockwood Haulage supplies large drinks brands including Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Stella, and Heineken, according to Unite. The union said workers rejected a 1% pay rise offer and that the company's plan to introduce an attendance-based bonus scheme would leave staff 'financially worse off.'
Unite regional officer Jessica Sangha stated, 'Any strike action is completely the fault of Lockwood management, who have insulted our members with this paltry pay offer.'
