Lorne Steinberg Wealth Management Inc.'s vice-president and portfolio manager Michelle Head Kim says she doesn't invest in trendy assets like AI or gold.

Instead, her firm focuses on holding 'good, high-functioning companies' with strong balance sheets and cash flow that generate returns over the long term,' she explains.

The Canadian dividend growth portfolio has returned 17.1 per cent year to date, while the global portfolio has returned 11.4 per cent year to date, according to Ms. Head Kim's firm.

She reveals that her firm bought more of Microsoft Corp.'s MSFT-Q shares earlier this year after seeing growth in its cloud business and AI platform, Copilot.
