Long-Time Somerset Resident Rosemarie Szakacs Passes Away at 80

Rosemarie Szakacs, an 80-year-old woman from Somerset, New Jersey, passed away on September 18, 2026. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she grew up in Linden and graduated from Linden High School.

Apart from her family, Rosemarie was deeply rooted in her community. She worked at The Home News Tribune in New Brunswick as a typist for 12 years and later joined Merck Employees Federal Credit Union in Rahway, where she served as coordinator to a financial advisor for 12 years.

Rosemarie is survived by her two sons, Stephen IV and Joseph, their children, and several other relatives. Her family will remember her strong work ethic, love of community, and warmth towards others.
