Longtime Minnesota Resident Joan VanDiver Passes Away on Wedding Anniversary

Joan E. VanDiver, age 88, passed away on September 12, 2026, surrounded by her family at home. This tragic event occurred on what would have been her 67th wedding anniversary with husband John.

Born on May 27, 1938, in Burnsville, MN, Joan had a long and happy life. She grew up on a farm but never enjoyed the animals much. After attending Eyota High School, where she was one of the first members of her family to graduate, Joan worked at Honeywell where she met John.

The couple married and had seven children together. Joan also had careers as an Avon Lady for 25 years and at Hallmark at the Burnsville Center for another 25 years. She enjoyed traveling and spent most of her time raising her kids and grandchildren.
