Irish golfer Shane Lowry dominated the Amgen Irish Open in Doonbeg on Sunday, winning by an impressive 11 shots. This marked his second victory at the tournament and came just as he had taken a four-shot lead into the final round.

Lowry's impressive performance was evident from the start of the day, with him draining a birdie putt on the first hole and adding three more on the fifth, seventh, and eighth holes. Although he gave one back with a bogey on the ninth, his advantage had already become too great for anyone to catch.

The 39-year-old Lowry's control of the game became clear when he birdied the par-five 10th hole to move eight shots clear of Patrick Reed, who was his nearest challenger. This level of separation only grew as the day went on, with Lowry moving 10 ahead after back-to-back birdies on Nos 14 and 15.

The victory marked a home win for the second year in a row, following Rory McIlroy's triumph at the K Club. Earlier in the day, McIlroy had enjoyed his best round of the tournament with a 67 that left him one under par overall.
