Lowry Takes Break from Golf to Support Charity Walk
Golf pro Shane Lowry took a break from his preparation for the FedEx Cup playoffs to participate in a charity walk in Ireland. The event, hosted by Amgen, raised funds for Make-A-Wish Ireland, the official charity partner of the Amgen Irish Open.
Lowry, who has been an Amgen golf ambassador since December 2023, expressed his gratitude for being able to support the cause and give children a chance to fulfill their wishes. He also revealed that he surprised two young fans with private golf lessons in previous years.
During his break, Lowry went on vacation with his family, along with Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll, to the Greek island of Paros. They later spent time together in Ibiza and West Cork, where Lowry was joined by former Ireland rugby star Peter O'Mahony.
Lowry is currently ranked 60th in the FedEx Cup standings with 670 points, which secures his spot in next week's FedEx St. Jude Championship. However, he risks falling outside the top 50 and missing out on the BMW Championship if he doesn't perform well.
