LSU Football Interest Hits All-Time High Amid Off-Field Controversies
Google Trends data shows that interest in LSU football is expected to reach an all-time high this month. According to Google's search data, the team's name is likely to top the site's 0-100 interest scale for the first time. This comes as no surprise, given the recent controversies surrounding the team, including a lawsuit threat from Heisman winner Jayden Daniels and allegations of gamesmanship by coach Lane Kiffin over quarterback Sam Leavitt's injury designation.
Despite the drama, Ali Hassan, owner of Pro Image Sports in the French Quarter, remains indifferent to the off-field issues. As long as LSU is competing for a spot in the College Football playoff, he's happy. 'For me the big thing is the (College Football) playoff, LSU needs the playoff,' he said.
LSU will have its chance to step closer to the playoffs this Saturday against Ole Miss, a team that trails behind in Google search data. The real test for both teams begins now as they vie for a spot in the top 25 rankings and ultimately, a chance at the national championship title.
