Lucinda Southworth's Ocean Conservation Efforts Donate Over $120 Million

Lucinda Southworth, wife of Google co-founder Larry Page, has made a significant impact on ocean conservation through her organization, Oceankind. A Stanford-trained scientist, Southworth's initiative focuses on marine health and the economic well-being of communities dependent on the sea.

Oceankind has donated over $120 million since its founding in 2018, with reported disbursements including $18.2 million to ClimateWorks for commercial shipping emissions and carbon capture solutions, and $1 million to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.

Unlike traditional charitable foundations, Oceankind operates as a limited liability company, exempting it from public disclosure rules. The organization is administered through Page's family office, with Southworth directly supplying its funding.
