Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express Rebranded as Sprite Tejas Express
The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express will soon become India's first train to carry a commercial brand name. Starting from August 19, 2026, the train's station announcements will use the name 'Sprite Tejas Express' instead of its regular number. This move is part of a branding and advertising agreement between Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Coca-Cola.
Under this deal, Coca-Cola has been granted advertising and branding rights for the train for six months. The brand name will be used in station announcements at both originating and en-route stations. This marks a new advertising model where a commercial brand is directly linked to a train's official announced name.
The Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express was launched in 2019 as a premium, fully air-conditioned train service. The train offers facilities such as onboard food and beverages and infotainment services. Despite the new branding agreement, the train's operations will remain unchanged, with IRCTC continuing to operate it.
