Lufthansa Exercises Options for Additional Boeing 737 Max 10 Aircraft
The Lufthansa Group has exercised options for 20 additional Boeing 737 Max 10 aircraft, as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme. The rights to these aircraft were secured in a 2023 order for 40 Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft.
The list value of the additional aircraft is approximately $3.4 billion, and delivery is scheduled to begin in the early 2030s. These new planes are expected to gradually replace older Airbus A320 family aircraft across the group.
The order forms part of Lufthansa's efforts to modernise its fleet by 2035, with over 250 new aircraft set to be delivered. The company aims to improve efficiency and reduce costs through this process.
