Lufthansa Expands Boeing 737 MAX Fleet with 20 New Aircraft
Lufthansa Group has expanded its Boeing 737 MAX fleet by exercising options for 20 aircraft. The move is part of the company's ongoing modernization program, which aims to replace older Airbus A320 family planes with more efficient and sustainable models.
The new Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft will offer additional comfort for customers, providing greater seating capacity than its predecessors. It also consumes around 30 percent less fuel and reduces unit costs by approximately 20 percent compared to the older aircraft.
The order is valued at around USD 3.4 billion and forms part of Lufthansa Group's fleet modernization program. By 2035, the airline group expects to take delivery of more than 250 new aircraft, continuing its investment in an efficient and sustainable fleet.
