Lufthansa Expands Boeing Order with 20 More MAX 10s
Lufthansa Group has significantly expanded its order for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The group exercised options for 20 more 737 MAX 10s, increasing its total firm order to 60. This new batch of planes is part of a larger package of purchase options secured in 2023.
The Lufthansa Group's Supervisory Board approved the purchase, which brings the group's total option for Boeing 737 aircraft to 100. Deliveries of the 737 MAX 10s are expected to begin in the early 2030s.
Lufthansa has not yet revealed which airline will operate the newly ordered planes, but it is expected that they could join Eurowings' fleet, alongside the previously ordered 40 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. The first examples of this variant are due to arrive in 2027, with all 40 scheduled for delivery by 2032.
