Students at a government-run boys' school in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, India staged a protest on August 7 after caterpillars were allegedly found in their hostel food. The students claimed that this was not an isolated incident and had occurred multiple times before.

The students alleged that the hostel staff and warden misbehaved with them whenever complaints were raised about the poor quality of food. They also accused some staff members of coming to work under the influence of alcohol and demanding money from students for drinking.

City Magistrate Bajrang Bahadur said that an inquiry committee had been formed to investigate the allegations. The committee would examine the food served, inspect the hostel arrangements, and record statements from students before submitting its findings to the district administration.
