Paisley McDonald's Drive-Thru Plans Headed for Appeal Decision in October
A proposed commercial development in Paisley featuring a McDonald's drive-thru restaurant and an electric vehicle charging hub has been appealed to the Scottish Government.
The proposal, submitted by Chargemaster trading as BP Pulse, was initially rejected by Renfrewshire Council's planning authority due to concerns over the loss of open space and trees, as well as its impact on the surrounding area.
However, in a statement outlining the grounds for appeal, Gravis Planning argued that the site is 'unallocated white land' within the Renfrewshire Local Development Plan, making it suitable for development. The company also emphasized that the proposals would retain a significant portion of the open area and include high-quality landscaping.
The local authority has cited concerns over the proximity of the proposed development to nearby residential properties on St James Avenue, stating that its redevelopment would leave these homes exposed to both this development and another project approved by the Scottish Government at a nearby location in West March Road.
