Magic Kingdom's Iconic Walt Disney World Railroad to Close for Refurbishment
The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has announced the closure of the iconic Walt Disney World Railroad. The attraction will close on September 28th and reopen on October 30th, according to the Disney World calendar.
This is likely a refurbishment, as it's not uncommon for rides and attractions to undergo maintenance during this time. The railroad has been in operation since the park opened, using historic steam locomotives to take guests on a round trip around Magic Kingdom.
The Walt Disney World Railroad has three stations: Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, and Fantasyland. Due to construction in Frontierland, the railroad is currently operating in shuttle mode only, running from Main Street, U.S.A. to Fantasyland and back again.
