Mamadapur Lake Revitalized Through Public-Private Partnership

Vijayapura's historic Mamadapur Lake has been beautified through an initiative by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages in partnership with the Government of Karnataka. The project, part of HCCB's community partnership programme Project SHINE, involved several improvements to public infrastructure and safety around the lake.

The initiative aimed to strengthen the lake's role as a shared community asset while preserving its historical and environmental significance. Improvements included developing a public park, creating dedicated walking pathways, installing high-mast solar lighting, and planting native saplings with drip irrigation.

Karnataka Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development Dr. M. B. Patil commented on the initiative: 'Infrastructure that supports water conservation and public use plays an important role in improving local environments...effective public-private partnerships underline the importance of responsible corporate organisations working alongside communities.'
