Man Dies Helping Teen Driver in Tragic Palisades Center Incident

An Orange County man was killed in a tragic incident after stopping to help an injured driver at the Palisades Center.

Griffin Williams, a 43-year-old from Maybrook, died when he fell 30-40 feet over a retaining wall while trying to assist the teen who had crashed their Toyota Camry on Tuesday morning near Home Depot.

The driver, an 18-year-old from Carmel, was rescued and later arrested for DWI.

Williams' family remembered him as a devoted husband and father, and a passionate photographer and motorcycle enthusiast.
