The US Marine Corps has implemented a modernized access control platform for its barracks facilities globally. Honeywell Technologies fielded the LenelS2 OnGuard solution, managed alongside the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic, as part of the force's Barracks 2030 infrastructure modernization program.

Initial testing was conducted at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort in South Carolina and met operational targets ahead of schedule. The platform is built to support more than 70,000 battery-powered wireless locks, using Common Access Cards as primary credentials while introducing mobile access.

The centralized platform allows officials to remotely manage access permissions and track activity across installations, replacing standalone door locks that require manual updates. Program leaders estimate that the effort has cut labor costs by approximately 80 percent and material expenses by 60 percent.
