Marketers Pritchard and Rajamannar Sound Alarm on Traditional Advertising
Procter & Gamble's (P&G) Chief Marketing Officer Marc Pritchard has introduced his concept of 'creative tingle', a measure of ad effectiveness that captures the attention-grabbing potential of creative work. He believes that advertising, as it is currently practiced, is not future-proof and needs to be reimagined.
Pritchard's views were echoed by Mastercard's Chief Marketer Raja Rajamannar, who also thinks that traditional advertising models are no longer viable. While Pritchard focused on the creative aspect of advertising, Rajamannar emphasized the need for a more integrated approach to marketing, one that combines multiple channels and formats.
The implication is clear: traditional advertising as we know it may be nearing its end. With consumers increasingly resistant to interruptive ads and demanding more engaging experiences, marketers are being forced to rethink their strategies.
