Mars Strengthens Leadership Team to Drive Pet Food Growth
Mars has strengthened its ANZ leadership team to drive growth in its pet food business. Rita McComb and Mitch Maiers have joined the company in senior commercial and category roles, respectively.
McComb brings over 15 years of FMCG experience to Mars as channel development director for corporate grocery. She previously held sales leadership positions at Procter & Gamble across various channels, including Coles, independent grocery, pharmacy, and electrical stores.
Maiers has transferred from Mars Pet Nutrition North America, where he was category director for Walmart. He will lead the company's category growth strategy across physical and online retail channels as strategy and category operations director for Pet Nutrition ANZ.
Mars Petcare ANZ managing director Melodie Nye said the appointments would enhance the company's ability to partner with retailers, citing McComb's and Maiers' 'exceptional capability and customer-first mindset'. The leadership additions will help Mars respond to changing pet parent needs with 'real, insight-led value', according to Nye.
