Mary McAllister Joins McAllister Towing's Growing Fleet

McAllister Towing and Transportation has taken delivery of its sixth tug in a series, the Mary McAllister. The vessel is part of seven built by Washburn and Doughty Associates, with the seventh, Cathy McAllister, scheduled for launch in February 2027.

The 6,770hp tractor tug measures 93 feet long and 38 feet wide, with a loaded draught of 17 feet. Its bollard pull is rated at 84 tonnes, driven by two US EPA Tier IV-compliant Caterpillar 3516E engines and Schottel SRP 490 FP Z-drive units.

The Mary McAllister features full firefighting capability, including a Caterpillar C18 fire pump and a Fire Fighting Systems monitor that can deliver water and foam at a rate of 12,000 gallons per minute. The tug also has Rose Point navigation equipment and Starlink connectivity.
