Massy Group has sold its Caterpillar business in Trinidad and Tobago to Machinery Corporation Motors (MACORP), a local subsidiary of a Miami-based company. The sale is part of a strategic review of Massy's machinery operations.

Dionne Ligoure, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs at Massy Group, confirmed the sale, noting that the value of the transaction has not been disclosed. Despite concerns from some employees about job security, Ligoure assured that 200 workers will remain unaffected by the change in ownership.

The sale brings Caterpillar expertise and regional reach to MAJORP's operations, which already span across several Caribbean and Latin American markets. The company serves industries including mining, agriculture, road construction, marine, forestry, industrial operations, and electric power generation.
